Privacy

Short version: no tracking, no ads, no selling data. We only keep what you send us: messages, bug reports and beta sign-ups.

Who we are

This website is run by Initus Interactive, an independent game studio.

What we collect

  • Contact form. Your name, email address, topic, subject and message, and the time you sent it. To stop abuse we also keep a one-way hash of your IP address (never the address itself) and your browser's user-agent string.
  • Bug reports. What you tell us about the bug (game, version, platform, what happened, how to repeat it), any screenshots or log files you attach, and your name and email if you give them. Attachments are kept privately and only the team can see them.
  • Beta testing. When you apply: your first and last name, email address, the game you picked and your message. If you're accepted, we create a beta login for that game (your email address as the username, and your password stored only as a secure hash), record when you download a build, and keep a list of the beta emails we send you. The game checks your login with this website when you start it. Every beta email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Spam protection. When you open the contact or bug form, your browser quietly solves a small puzzle that makes bulk spam expensive. It runs on this site alone: no third-party service, no cookie, nothing sent anywhere else.
  • Visit statistics. To see which pages are read and how people find us, the site counts page views without cookies. For each visit we record the pages viewed, how long they were on screen, the referring site, campaign tags in the link, your country (worked out from your IP address, which is then discarded; this product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from maxmind.com), your device type, browser and operating system, and actions such as playing a video, clicking through to Steam or downloading the press kit. You are identified only by a code made from your IP address and browser with a secret that changes every day and is then deleted, so we can't recognise you from one day to the next or link the statistics to you. Your IP address is not stored.
  • Server logs. Our web server keeps short-lived technical logs (requested page, time, status) to keep the site running and secure.

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and our visit statistics use no cookies at all. The only cookies we set are a security cookie that protects forms from forgery, and login and settings cookies for the site's administrators.

Why, and for how long

We use contact messages and bug reports only to answer you and fix problems, with your consent. We delete them when they're no longer needed, and at the latest two years after the conversation ends. Beta details are kept while you test with us; we delete them when you leave the beta or ask us to. Visit statistics are deleted after two years. Ask us at any time to see or delete what we hold about you.

Third parties

  • Videos are embedded with YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube receives data only when you play a video.
  • Email. If we reply by email, or send you beta emails, they pass through our email provider.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Contact us to make a request.
