Introducing Starport Frontier
Build and run a commercial spaceport on the edge of settled space. Trade with every ship that lands, grow from a dusty outpost to an interplanetary gateway, and keep the traffic coming.
Today we're lifting the hangar doors on Starport Frontier, a management game about running a commercial spaceport on the edge of settled space.
The pitch
Ships come to your port to trade and to use your services. You buy their cargo cheap and sell it dear, charge for landing and fuel, and grow the port so bigger, more profitable traffic comes your way. Success brings its own trouble — congestion, power demand and running costs — so the game is about preparing capacity before the traffic arrives and choosing which business to grow next.
What you'll do
- Build freely. Place pads, warehouses, tank farms, power plants and cargo terminals anywhere on the surface. Where you put things matters: a fuel depot only serves the pads it can reach.
- Trade with every ship. Each arrival brings offers and bids. Read the Galactic Commodity Exchange, buy low, hold, and sell high — by hand, or with rules that trade for you.
- Keep your reputation. Ships that wait too long give up and go elsewhere. Spare capacity is the best advertising.
- Grow through six port levels, from Frontier Outpost to Grand Starport, unlocking heavy pads, bigger ships, research and contracts.
- Choose your world. Earthlike planets are forgiving. Frontier worlds need water, oxygen and food for every crew.
Why we're making it
We love management games where every decision is a real one. Starport Frontier deliberately keeps the list short — money, capacity, trade, reputation and opportunities — so you spend your time making choices rather than managing chores.
What's next
We'll post dev diaries here as the game takes shape. Follow along with the RSS feed, read the How to Play guide to see how the systems fit together, or get in touch — we read everything.
See you on the pad.
